Who is eligible to participate in this study?

 

Are you eligible to participate in this study? 

​

  • If you are an elite UK athlete (training as part of a talent identification scheme, those with a national training programme, and/or those training towards National and International level competitions) - you are eligible​ - - 

  • If you are a professional athlete on contract with a UK team or club - you are eligible

  • If you receive World Class Programme funding (via UKSport/National Lottery) - you are eligible

  • If you are on an official Talent Identification Pathway for the UK - you are eligible

  • If you competed between 1996 and now as an elite/professional athlete - you are eligible  

  • If you are a disabled elite athlete - you are eligible

  • If you are a non-disabled elite athlete - you are eligible

  • If you are a current OR retired elite athlete - you are eligible

You must be over the age of 18 years to participate.

Participant Information

If you choose to take part in this study, the following information is important: 

​

  • It is entirely your choice to participate in this study.

  • If you begin the survey and wish to take a break, you can return to the survey at any point. 

    • If you wish to discontinue the survey for any reason, you are free to do so. ​

    • You can also skip questions you don't feel comfortable or able to respond to. 

  • All responses will be anonymous, and all data used will ensure that there are no identifying statements or details of any participants. 

  • !! This survey will ask about some potentially sensitive or triggering topics such as abuse and maltreatment in sport, and about mental health symptoms - you may choose to skip these, or to take a break while answering them.  

  • A list of available services and resources for mental health and trauma assistance are available at the end of the survey should you feel you need them.
